My very first classroom experience

I want to discuss about my first job as a teacher. I was doing internships for my B.Ed. I had to instruct secondary courses in social studies and English.

I had no prior classroom teaching experience. I was thus somewhat concerned. A rather intensive week-long micro teaching training programmed was offered by my college. I diligently attended every workshop, took notes, and read and reread the teacher training material. However, I still felt unprepared. In retrospect, I realise that my lack of confidence was relatively normal, but at the time, I was really frightened to speak to my pupils.
The scheduled time eventually arrived, and I was forced to continue. I gave a little introduction of myself, invited each person to say a few words about themselves, and then we went to work. I didn't have to do anything because it was a worksheet session, thank goodness. The pupils were ready when class began. It went well on the first day.
I felt the task to be becoming easier as the week went on. It was as simple as going to the lesson and performing several integral computations on the board. I let go of the need to prepare the assignment problems in advance since I felt at ease. I thought I wouldn't need to practise my math skills since I wouldn't be dealing with freshman algebra issues.
I gave them a range of ratings. My accent and my penmanship on the board received the two most frequent criticisms. A week is not enough time for me to get used to my new accent because I am not a natural English speaker. I thus knew that at least some of the children would have issues as a result. Additionally, I was aware that my handwriting would be unreadable on a blackboard because I had never written on one in my life.
After completing this internship, I gained a lot of teaching knowledge. In my opinion, teaching is similar to performing. Reading or attending courses won't be enough to get you ready for the challenge. The only way to improve is to practise.
Despite my inexperience, I hope I was able to help the pupils learn in some way.
